The splendid Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Jenny Gawthrope Wood.

Originally from Worcestershire, over the years Jenny has had an array of jobs, bar maid, petrol pump attendant, archives clerk, and amassed an impressive list of studies and qualifications, classics student, sociology and economics A levels, an MSC in Medical Dermography

Jenny’s main charities she is supporting in her Mayoral year are

The Cambridge branch of the Parkinson’s society, for which she was previously treasurer and the local Red Hen Project, supporting local positive parenting 

Jenny very kindly met me in the Cambridge Guild Hall where I was given  coffee and a tour of the splendid council chamber with its impressive cabinet of Council Artefacts.
