The Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Masuk Miah

Born in Bangladesh moving with his parents to England in 1973, he moved to Guilford in 1986 to open his first restaurant. Masuk is married to Pravin and they have three grown up children

The Mayors chosen charities for the year are The Fountain Centre which supports patients and their families when they have been diagnosed with cancer, and also the Mayor of Guildford Local Support Fund which supports local residents who may be struggling financially 

Masuk is also organising a large  local six a side charity football competition for May 2024

The Mayor very kindly saw me on a busy Monday morning in the Mayor’s Parlour in Millmead house

He certainly showed his love and passion for representing the people of his town and we wish him all the best for the rest of his year
