Wakefield Town Hall

The excellent Mayor of Wakefield Mr Darren Byford.

Born in Castleford and starting work in 1979 as a trainee retail manager working up to manager and specialising in Procurement at YPO in Wakefield . Darren was first elected to Wakefield Council in 2016.

I met up with Darren at the Town Hall following Wakefield’s annual Civic Service at the Cathedral 

Darren’s main charity for his year is the’Memory Action Group’, a peer support group for people living with dementia and their carers
