The splendid Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Margaret Wells

Margaret has lived all her life in York, and studied for a degree in Social Policy at the University of York, after the birth of her children.

She was first elected  a Councillor in 2015, and in 2021 during, Covid, battled back from a stroke to be elected Lord Mayor for this magnificent Historic City this year.

I was lucky enough to meet up with Lord Mayor Margaret on the steps of the magnificent Mansion House for a chat.

Margaret’s main charities she is supporting in her predictably busy year are, The Stroke Society, Survive North Yorkshire, YCFC Foundation, York RLFC Foundation,

Two Ridings Community Foundation
